Concentrated  Omega-3, Natural Form 

Concentrated Omega-3 has a combined Eicosapentaenoic fatty acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic fatty acids (DHA) of at least 500mg/1000mg gelcap.

DHA produce series D Resolvins, which help to improve the healthy functioning of the brain, nervous system and the eyes.

EPA produce series E Resolvins, which is mainly consumed for improving the cardiovascular health.

The European Standard for a Concentrated Omega-3 (concentrates) permits a declaration of “natural Conentarted Omega-3″ only if it contains up to 600mg EPA  and DHA /1000mg gelcap, which is the Concentration of our product.

The difference between Concentrated Omega 3 product and regular product ( 300mg of EPA +DHA)  is not a numerical difference, it is rather the absorption rate.

A Concentrated Omega-3 has up to 85% average absorption rate, whereas a non- concentrated (300mg/1000mg gelcap) the rate drops to as low as 35% (about 100mg delivery).

Concentrated Omega-3 comes in two form: Natural (TG form) and Ethyl Esters (EE Form).

In Ethyl Ester form, the fatty Acids are connected by ethanol (alcohol) molecule and its digestion (Metabolism) takes place in the liver, where the ethanol is degraded and the fatty acids become free.

Ethyl Esters are, in reality, a synthetic form and because it contains ethanol and its digestion is in the liver, they might have side effects for the liver. The Ethyl Esters form are NOT found in the fishes.

As to  the natural form (TG) of a Concentrated Omega-3, the fatty acids are re-esterified and put back in the original form that is found in fishes, that being the TG form. The digestion (metabolism) of the natural TG form takes place in the stomach and intestine. The manner in which the body breaks-up and puts back the fatty acid is the same manner that a natural  (TG) Concentrated Omega-3 product is manufactured.

The cost is, obviously, a major factor for a natural concentrated Omega-3. It cost more to return EPA and DHA fatty acids back to their original structure.
